Gone to the Summerland

They are the defining example of "perfect love and perfect trust".  They brought me more joy that anyone deserves.  And I know the Creator has a place in the great beyond just for them and I hope for me to be with them again!

Boots and Gabriel

Both my sweet boys were pups no one wanted.  I was blessed to have their total love and devotion for over 10 years.  They both crossed over in 2008 due to heart failure but they loved me completely until the end.  I miss them every day and at night when there space at the foot of the bed is empty.

Scarlet's Pandora

The filly that didn't like anyone loved me. I was her "hero" someone said.  She needed someone to love her and I did.  I earned her trust as a 10 month old and started her undersaddle a 2 years.  We had only been back home in Arkansas a short time when she had a stomach rupture in 2005 just after her 2nd birthday.  She was truly magic.

Belles True Grit

Sweet little Rooster was just starting to grow into those long graceful legs when he died as the result of a freak accident in the pasture.  He was a gentle, sweet loving colt and will be greating missed.

June 12, 2009

On this day, a very strong storm hit our hometown causing extensive damage.  As the storm passed by, one last lightning strike hit the girls "hidey hole" instantly killing 7 of my beautiful young girls.  They are buried in their pasture with their "buddy".  I miss them so much.  Blessedly Sterling and Angel survived the strike.  The wind damage blew over the barn where Gusty, Flame and Chips were and they were safe.  A secondary strike in the mare and foal pasture missed them as well.  We are trying to count our blessings through our tears.

We said goodbye to Lily (Puffies Tygerlily), Birdie (Hotroddin Ponko), Pride (Rafter Pride), Cookie (Harlans Grand Leo), Boo (Cooks Grando Potoe), Honey (Quincys May Queen) and Summer (Blu Summer Storm)

Somewhere...somewhere in time's own space

There must be some sweet pastured place

Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow

Some Paradise where horses go.

For by the love that guides my pen

I know great horses live again.
